The 6. NanoEurope, leading European exhibition for the transfer of nanotechnology know-how, will be held in St.Gallen, Switzerland from September 16 – 17, 2008.
The international congress will present successful commercial nanotechnology applications and introduce new scientific knowledge that can be commercialized.

Linking business and science
The NanoEurope 2008 will for the first time organize a forum for decisionmakers from the business community. Top managers from successful nanotechnology companies will discuss the business perspectives of nanotechnology and show how opportunities can be seized by developing concrete commercial applications. One of the subjects will be ideas for investors planning to invest in nanotechnology.
The technical focus of this year’s event will be on the areas of Nanobased Electronic and Sensor Systems, Systems with Functionalized Surfaces and Structures and Multifunctional Textiles. Attendees will not merely receive key information, but also be offered the opportunity to exchange views and ideas with leading experts from the business and scientific communities. With its specialist congress, which is addressed to businesses, investors, and researchers, the NanoEurope will step up the efforts started last year to link the latest research findings with commercial business applications.
The internationally renowned NanoRegulation Conference will again be held in 2008 as part of the NanoEurope. This year’s NanoRegulation Conference will be governed by the motto Beyond Regulation – Voluntary Measures in Nano Risk Governance.

A total of approx. 3,500 visitors were recorded. The professional audience from 40 countries benefited from the unique platform, which promotes applications of nanotechnology in the leading-edge industries of textiles, plastics, packaging, and solar and medical technology. The fact that, according to a visitor survey, 87% of the visitors judged the NanoEurope as good or even very good, and that the majority of the participants felt that their areas of interest were covered either well or very well was also grounds for satisfaction.
